Chores. Just the word brings up visions of drudgery, "have to's", "shoulds" and tedious tasks. Most of us would rather and often do, find anything to do other than chores. But then those chores pile up. All of a sudden you're feeling burdened, overwhelemd and probably exhausted.
Life does not have to be lived that way. The way to change chores from being awful to fun is to involved your family. Here's what I mean - if you have children, you'd probably rather be spending quality time with them rather than doing the laundry. Am I right? Who wouldn't? But the laundry needs to be taken care of so it either piles up or you spend too many hours away from your family. What if it didn't have to be that way? What if there was a simple way to do both at the same time?
If your child is 3 or older then they can perform simple tasks. Not only that, they probably would love to spend time with Mommy or Daddy AND learn a new life skill. So make laundry time fun! Include your kids in it. They can easily carry their own small pile of laundry to the laundry room and you can even get them their own little basket to carry...just like Mom or Dad! As you're doing the laundry, make up fun songs or fun games to make it more interesting. Make it a game instead of work and all of a sudden you're spending quality time with your kids, getting stuff done, and teaching your kid important life skills. How does it get any better than that?
Including your kids in all of your "chores" will teach them important life skills, confidence and self empowerment, allow you both to spend great times together, and suddenly, it won't seem like much of a chore anymore. In fact, you'll have more time to devote to more important matters.
